Last time, I told you about my "Botox buddy." Have you been wondering about the outcome? I didn't know what to expect myself.
Shelly
I know people who have done the Botox thing, but I'd never gotten the chance to to experience it up close and personal - until recently. A friend of mine decided she had to get Botox.

How did we live before we had cell phones? If I'm not constantly connected to my phone, I feel that surely something cataclysmic will happen and my world will fall apart. But now I'm concerned that we are all too connected. I hate to admit it, but as I am writing this, I am also texting my friend. It's hard to finish a sentence!

I find that I don't crave sugar as much as I used to. I do have one HUGE weakness, though. I simply can't get enough! They are the best thing ever - Dunkin Donuts.

I had the opportunity to step outside my box a couple of weeks ago. And I mean way out. I can be somewhat of a chicken when it comes to heights and speed. I don't like roller coasters or the thought of jumping out of an airplane. Heck, I don't even like it when my husband drives in a man-aggressive manner. You can ask him - I drive him nuts! But I'll save those stories for another day...

What do you do when you're stressed, angry or upset? Some people eat. Others go out for a little retail therapy. I clean. If the people I live with know me at all, they know to steer clear when the cleaning products come out and the dust starts flying! I find it very therapeutic. Not that I throw fits or anything - I just get in the zone, and I want to finish what I've started. Nothing beats looking around my house after I'm finished and knowing that everything is clean and in its place. I love the smell of clean.

Birthdays are a big deal at our house. Of course, everything is big when you have a big family, but we love to celebrate the lives of the people in our family. We used to have big parties with the boys' friends when they were younger. I loved planning parties for them. We've done an Olympic party, paintball parties, a luau, pool parties and even a murder mystery party (it was my favorite!)

Everybody needs good girl friends, but when you find yourself "Outnumbered" by a bunch of boys who just don't GET you, they become even more crucial. They help me maintain some semblance of sanity! I consider myself extremely blessed with the best friends a girl could ask for. My husband and children don't even realize how grateful they should be. If they think I can be "emotional" and nutty, I shudder to think what I would be like without my female support group!

It's every woman's disease - at least the ones I know. No matter how hard I try, I simply can't make it through a day without worrying. I'm beginning to make myself sick! Literally! Being a mother makes it worse, although I don't think a woman has to have kids to worry about the things that concern her.

Our love for movies has, unfortunately for our friends, changed our vocabularies. We are all the kings (and queen!) of the movie oneliners. Give us a chance, and we can whip out a movie line for any situation, no matter how trivial.

I used to like going to the grocery store, especially when I was a kid. I loved to go with my mom to push the cart and maybe have the opportunity to sneak my favorite things into it. These days, it is quite the chore.

Most of us women love to spruce up our homes, especially when the seasons change. We spring clean and invariably notice things that are worn out and need to be updated. Plus, it's such a great excuse to go shopping...

I have been thinking about my mom a lot lately. She passed away in 2003. So of course Mother's Day can be hard. It is a weird feeling to not have anyone to buy a Mother's Day card for.

Without a doubt the most in-your-face part of being "Outnumbered" has to be the realization that to boys, bodily functions are indeed a form of entertainment. It doesn't matter what kind, but the grosser the better.

I’ll never forget the time I first spent time with my four step-sons. I had just met my husband, and he invited me over for lunch on Father's Day. There stood little, naïve, inexperienced me at the front door of his house.

Hello world! Here I am for all the world to see. Right. All the world knows about Amarillo, Texas. But that is basically what it feels like! So begins the process of a very closeted individual sharing life, personal angst, and hopefully laughs with total strangers. Get me a brown bag and let the adventures begin!
